All Nippon Airways (ANA)
JA8202
July 1961

Delivered new to All Nippon Airways (ANA). Taken at Haneda Airport, Tokyo, Japan in July 1961, now in full livery.

It still carries the UK registration on the lower rear fuselage.

Note the integral front 'airsteps' and the small window at the rear of the cabin.

The aircraft behind with the orange 'dayglo' band is a USAF Douglas C-54 Skymaster.

The fire bottle trolley in the foreground really relates to the piston engine era as turbine engines rarely caught fire during startup as their AVTUR kerosene fuel type was less volatile than AVGAS.
