It first flew on Monday, 1 September 1958 at Hurn, Bournemouth, Hampshire, England powered by Rolls-Royce Dart 510 engines.

Its fate:-
Withdrawn from service by the Türk Hava Kuvvetleri (Turkish Air Force) and transferred to the Havacilik Muzezi on the military side of Yesilkoy airfield, Istanbul, Turkey in 1990. Painted up as Viscount TC-SEV (C/N 429) in THY -Türk Hava Yollari - Turkish Airlines livery for a television documentary about one-time Turkish Prime Minister Adnan Menderes' life September 2006. Prime Minister Menderes surived the crash of TC-SEV on approach to Gatwick Airport, Surrey, England on 17 February 1959. Repainted back in Türk Hava Kuvvetleri livery circa 2007.

A television documentary about one-time Turkish Prime Minister Adnan Menderes' life was shot and this aircraft was painted up as Viscount TC-SEV (C/N 429) in Türk Hava Yollari - Turkish Airlines (THY) livery. Prime Minister Menderes surived the crash of TC-SEV on approach to Gatwick Airport, Surrey, England 17 February 1959.

Re-painted in Türk Hava Kuvvetleri (Turkish Air Force) livery.
