This housed a lamp which illuminated the wing leading edge to allow the flight crew to check for icing at night.

You can see the red GFP marking on the No.2 prop blade.

There should be a corresponding red mark on the backplate.

These should line up when the blade is in the correct GFP position.

Starting an engine in any other prop position could result in a turbine burnout, because of the extra drag.
