Delivered new to Aer Lingus named 'St Cillian'. Taken at Collinstown Airport, Dublin, Ireland circa October 1961. It is undergoing a major check with all the cabin windows removed.

Note that the propeller spinners have been removed and the blades are in the 'feathered' position which indicates that they are probably going to be removed for servicing or for a scheduled Rolls-Royce Dart engine change.

Delivered new to Aer Lingus named 'St Cillian'. Taken at Ringway Airport, Manchester, England in July 1962.

Nick was on his way to Amsterdam when the aircraft returned to Manchester due to a technical problem with the No.2 Rolls-Royce Dart engine.

Nick took this photogragh as he left the aircraft.

Eventually the fault was repaired and the service was completed without further incident.

It has now been converted to V.808C freight or passenger configuration including the fitment of two large doors at the front of the fuselage.

Note the support pole under the rear fuselage which gave it some stability as the rear freight would be loaded on first which would alter the centre of gravity until everything was on board.

The aircraft was damaged beyond repair in an indavertant wheels up landing at Belfast International Airport, Aldergrove, Northern Ireland in March 1996 and this nameplate was acquired by Mike Sessions during his time with this airline.

Note that this plate also states where the finance came from to purchase the aircraft.
