Capital Airlines (USA)

May 1957

The sale to Capital Airlines with fleet number '387' was not completed. Taken at Hurn Airport, Bournmouth, Hampshire, England 30 May 1957 undergoing engine runs.

It was eventually sold to Capital Airlines as N7465 with fleet number '383' in May 1958.

The sale to Capital Airlines with fleet number ‘387’ was not completed. Taken at Hurn Airport, Bournemouth, Hampshire, England 27 June 1957 after removal of the Capital livery but retaining part of the white paint.

It was eventually sold to Capital Airlines as N7465 with fleet number '383' in May 1958.

Purchased from Vickers-Armstrongs (Aircraft) Ltd as a replacement aircraft with fleet number '383'. Taken arriving at La Guardia Airport, New York, USA circa July 1959.

The outboard Rolls-Royce Dart engines have already been shut down.

Note the enlarged and repositioned registration and the integral front 'airsteps' on the aircraft behind.
