BOAC Associated Companies Ltd as VR-HFI

It first flew on Thursday, 13 December 1956 at Hurn, Bournemouth, Hampshire, England powered by Rolls-Royce Dart 510 engines.


During its life this aircraft was also owned and/or operated by
Hong Kong Airways, Malayan Airways and Aden Airways

British Midland Airways (BMA) as G-AWCV.

Its fate:-
Withdrawn from service by British Midland Airways (BMA) after its final service from Aldergrove Airport, Belfast, Northern Ireland to East Midlands Airport, Castle Donington, Leicestershire, England and stored 28 November 1969.

Ferried to Teesside International Airport, Darlington, County Durham, England and stored in April 1970. Broken up for scrap after spares recovery in May 1970.

Production Aircraft No. 165 - the 165th production 700 series Viscount built,
was the 114th Viscount fuselage assembled at Hurn, Bournemouth, Hampshire, England,
and the 120th Viscount assembled at Hurn, Bournemouth, Hampshire, England.

Production Order No. F01/760. Sales Order No. F01/70B. Stock Order No. F41/27B.

It was fitted with extended range 'slipper' fuel tanks.

Radio equipment was then installed by BOAC while at London Airport.

Leased to Hong Kong Airways still fitted with extended range 'slipper' fuel tanks.
