Delivered new to Capital Airlines with fleet number ‘349’. Taken at Hurn Airport, Bournemouth, Hampshire, England in June 1956.

Clearly a publicity photo that was supposed to portray 'American' passengers disembarking via the integral front 'airsteps' but the clothing styles are very 'British' and their stance is far too posed.

Delivered new to Capital Airlines with fleet number ‘349’. Taken at Milwaukee Airport, Wisconsin, USA in September 1958 with an earlier generation Capital Douglas DC-4 in the background which the Viscount replaced on certain routes.

Transferred from Capital Airlines due to a corporate merger retaining fleet number '349'. A view of the crash wreckage in a wooded area, six miles west / southwest of Ellicott City, Maryland, USA 24 November 1962, the day after the crash, with the wreckage being guarded by a State Trooper.

This would appear to be all that remains of the rear section of the aircraft.
