The aircraft is being refuelled using a pumping trolley delivering Jet A-1 kerosene-type fuel from an underground storage tank to an Avery-Hardoll connection on the No.1 engine nacelle.

Another connection on the No.4 nacelle would also be used to refuel the other wing.

The delivery pressure must not exceed 50 PSI to prevent seals being blown.

All the equipment and the aircraft was bonded to a specified ramp connection to avoid the risk of a build up of static electricity.
