This view shows a closeup of the No.2 (port inner) engine nacelle firewall.

On the ground are two of the tubular engine mounting struts painted in red primer.

The final colour should be aircraft green which the firewall will also be when it is cleaned and painted.

The same engine strut was used on the Avro 748, Armstrong Whitworth Argosy, Handley Page Dart Herald and the Grumman G159 Gulfstream which earned extra revenue for Vickers.

The only thing left to install is the No.3 (starboard inner) Dowty propeller, which is currently being sourced.

Note that the No.3 propeller is not yet fitted.

This is because the museum need to find one, and one was eventually found at the Brooklands Museum in Weybridge, Surrey which was acquired to complete this aircraft.

The red aluminium sleeve protecting the propshaft was supplied by Rolls-Royce as a transportation piece and had an aluminium screw cap to secure it.
