It is flying with both port Rolls-Royce Dart Mark 505 engines feathered.

Note the early 'Cutlass' propeller blades which were later replaced by the 'paddle' shape, which often coincided with an upgrade to Dart Mark 506 standard, but not in all cases.

The starboard engines are running but the ground power unit (GPU) behind the tractor will remain connected until all the engines are started.

Not the nicest of conditions for photography. The following month she departed to warmer weather in Cyprus.

Seen here is Alidair licenced engineer John Wilde checking the engine oils as part of the pre-flight checks.

Generally the Dart needed less than a pint of oil after a two hour flight.

Under the aircraft on the ground and out of the sun is the Alidair avionic engineer.

Note that it is taxiing in on the inboard engines which means the aircraft must have been modified to install the hydraulic pumps on these engines rather than the outboard engines as originally delivered to Air France.
